Formed in the hills of central Texas in early 2011 Bottom Dollar String Band began making music with just a mandolin and banjo. Sparked by a love of old-timey string bands and traditional music the two friends began exploring the great music of America's past together. Before long Bottom Dollar String Band had grown into a four-piece string band with each player demonstrating mastery of their respective instruments and perfecting three and four voice harmonies to get that high-lonesome sound. The band has found it's niche in preserving the bluegrass heritage while reaching out to a young audience with a combination old-time standards, new-grass originals and a little jam band improvisation thrown in for good measure. In short, Bottom Dollar String Band is sure to keep entertaining audiences of all ages for many years to come.
Devin has the true make-up of a classic country-roots singer…a small town boy from a musical family with first-hand knowledge of heartbreak and the lonesome, haunting lyrics and vocals to portray it. Hearing Devin instantly takes you back to a time that you’ve only read about – a time where there’s a porch, a sunset and a family entertaining themselves and their closest neighborhood friends with their own hymn-based pickings and harmonies. Or it’s an evening gathered around a small radio tuning the dial to get a clear sound of the Carter family. Learn more about The Devin Jake Band
