Runoff Election Canvass
The City of Leander will canvass the general runoff election voting ballots in a special meeting to be held sometime on or before June 21. A canvass of all voting ballots must be conducted to determine official voting results. Total numbers may include early voting ballots, provisional ballots, mail-in ballots, federal postcard application ballots, and election-day ballots.
General Election Canvass
The City of Leander canvassed the general and special election voting ballots on May 16. Total numbers included early voting ballots, provisional ballots, mail-in ballots, federal postcard application ballots, and election-day ballots.
No candidate in the Place 3 or Place 5 contested races of the 2022 General Election received a majority of votes. If no candidate receives a majority vote, as required by the city's home rule charter, a runoff election for that office is required.
The runoff election for Place 3 and Place 5 will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022. Registered voters residing in the city of Leander will only be permitted to vote in the county where they are registered.
