No candidate in the Place 2 or Place 4 contested races of the 2021 General Election received a majority of votes. If no candidate receives a majority vote, as required by the city's home rule charter, a runoff election for that office is required.
Notice of Runoff Election - June 5, 2021
The runoff election for Place 2 and Place 4 will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021. Williamson County Elections Department will serve as the Election Administrator for registered voters in both Williamson and Travis counties. Leander Public Library Annex will serve as the early voting and election day polling location. For more details, please see the 2021 - Notice Of Runoff Election (PDF).
All registered Leander voters are eligible to participate in the Runoff Election regardless if they have voted in the previous General Election. Continue reading to see the following voting dates and times.

Runoff Early Voting Dates / Times
- May 24 and 25 (Monday through Tue), 7 am to 7 pm.
- May 26 to 28 (Wednesday through Friday), 8 am to 6 pm.
- May 29 (Saturday), 10 am to 2 pm.
- June 1 (Tue), 8 am to 6 pm.

Runoff Polling Place
Leander voters participating in the Runoff Election who are registered in either Williamson County or Travis County may vote at the following location: Leander Public Library Annex, 1011 S Bagdad Road.
General Election Canvass
The City of Leander will canvass the general election voting ballots in a special meeting to be held sometime on or before May 12. A canvass of all voting ballots must be conducted to determine official voting results. Total numbers may include early voting ballots, provisional ballots, mail-in ballots, federal postcard application ballots, and election-day ballots.
Newly elected officials for the Mayor and Place 6 seats will be sworn in at the Leander City Council regular meeting on Thursday, May 20.

All members of the Leander City Council serve at large, which means each position represents the entire city, as opposed to smaller geographic wards or districts. Registered Leander voters participating in the election may vote for any candidate on the ballot.
