Construction Inspectors

Construction Inspectors have several responsibilities in the City of Leander.

The Construction Inspector ensures proper installation of infrastructure in right-of-ways and easements.

The Construction Inspector inspects all water mains, fire hydrants and valves, wastewater mains, manholes and clean-outs, street construction, asphalt, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, driveways, curb ramps, storm-water piping and inlets and other construction connected items.

The Construction Inspector observes pressure testing of all water systems to be maintained by the City of Leander as well as observing sampling performed for bacteria on all water systems. Testing for bacteria on potable water lines is performed in accordance with the TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality).

Pressure and vacuum testing is performed on all wastewater systems to be maintained by the City of Leander and testing is observed by a Construction Inspector.

The Construction Inspector will also ensure other items including but not limited to: proper bedding and backfill of utility trenches, construction of roadway courses, and all required construction testing.

Commitment to Quality

Our Construction Inspectors are committed to ensuring quality construction of streets, drainage, water, and wastewater infrastructure within the City's jurisdiction.
