Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The city's Parks, Public Spaces and Recreation Comprehensive (Master) Plan (PDF) is a long-term guide for the overall development of Leander parks and recreation facilities.

Adopted in 2004, and updated in 2011 and 2019, the plan provides a 10-year vision for parks and recreation and includes a map for future parks and trails, as well as a prioritization for facility development. The master planning process included a community-wide survey and public meetings to determine community desires for park amenities.

On March 7, 2019, Leander City Council adopted the parks and recreation master plan developed by Burditt Consultants as a model to follow when considering future projects and financial considerations. View the meeting minutes (PDF) and the meeting video from March 7, 2019.
