Fire Inspection & Compliance
The Prevention and Life Safety Division of the Fire Marshal's Office strives to reduce the risk relating to the impacts of fire and explosion hazards where people live, work, and assemble by performing inspections and code compliance reviews. We thoroughly inspect all commercial businesses within the City of Leander to include schools, child care centers, foster care homes, residential board and care homes, medical facilities, and assisted living centers.
Any business within the City of Leander is subject to a periodic fire and life safety inspection performed by certified inspectors with the Leander Fire Department.
The Division is responsible for verifying and witnessing the installation tests and maintenance of fire protection features within various types of buildings such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems, commercial vent hoods and water supply systems.
Adopted city codes do not directly authorize fire and life safety inspections of single-family homes or duplexes. However, we can assist you with a "Home Hazard Assessment" upon request. Please contact the Fire Marshal's Office to schedule an assessment appointment.
