The cities of Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville police and fire departments along with tactical medics from Williamson County EMS comprise the Central Texas Regional SWAT team.

School Resource Officers
The Leander Police Department's School Resource Officers (SRO) program began in 1998. The program is a partnership between the police department and the Leander Independent School District. The SRO frequently acts as the primary investigator for crimes occurring on the school campus and acts in a proactive manner helping to keep our schools safer for students and teachers.

Sex Offenders & Registration
The Texas Sex Offender Registration Program is a sex offender registration and public notification law designed to protect the public from sex offenders. This law requires adult and juvenile sex offenders to register with the Leander Police Department if they are currently residing within the city limits.

Traffic Enforcement & Management (TEAM)
The department's Traffic Enforcement and Management (TEAM) unit has numerous responsibilities including traffic enforcement, collision investigation, traffic planning, DWI enforcement, special initiatives, Click it or Ticket, aggressive driving, and other programs that may alleviate some of the calls on our patrol division to better serve the citizens and community.

Leander Police Department has a Police Officer who is assigned full-time to warrants. The Warrant Officer serves and assists on any arrest warrants.
