The Public Works Department improves quality of life for Leander residents and businesses by managing essential public infrastructure operations and related activities in the city.

Phase 2 water conservation in effect
Leander is in Phase 2 water conservation, which limits landscape irrigation by automated systems, hose-end sprinklers, soaker hoses and drip irrigation to ONE DAY A WEEK from midnight to 7 a.m. or 7 p.m. to midnight based on the ending number of the address where your water meter is located. This applies to both residential and commercial properties.

Streets Division
The Streets Division is responsible for maintenance of city-owned streets, drainage, traffic signals, roadway signs, city fleet vehicles, and right-of-way maintenance.

The Water and Wastewater Division is responsible for the daily operation of water distribution, treatment, and wastewater collection in the city.
