Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Emergency Medical Services Technicians at WorkThe most frequent emergency call continues to be for emergency medical services (EMS). Because fire stations are situated throughout the city, firefighters can usually arrive at the scene of a medical emergency first and provide basic life support until the arrival of an advanced life support ambulance provided by Williamson County Emergency Medical Services.

Each engine company is equipped with medical equipment and an automatic external defibrillator (AED) and all firefighters are trained and certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (or higher) through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Dr. Taylor Radcliff provides oversight of service delivery as the department's medical director.
