New Service

New Residential Accounts

To establish a new residential service for water, wastewater, and sanitation collections within the city limits, complete our online or print application below and return it to the City of Leander Utilities by fax or in person. Please note that additional information must be provided as stated in the application.

Our online application also provides links to guide you through the setup process.

Residential Fees

For the initial connection, fees are based upon the meter size. For a 5/8" meter (most common residential meters), each new residential customer requires a $100 deposit and a $20 service charge. The earliest new service connections can be effective the following business day. A written request may be submitted to Utilities for a credit of 50% of the deposit based on one year of good payment history.

Residential Discounts

By city ordinance, persons that are disabled (e.g., SSI eligible, VA disability) or at least 65 years old can receive a 10% discount on monthly base and consumption charges for residential water and wastewater services. Discounts only apply to metered water provided to a single living unit occupied by a disabled/senior person. Customers must provide valid proof of age or disability to the City of Leander Utilities.

New Commercial Accounts

New water and wastewater services within the city limits are set up the same way as residential water and wastewater. However, you must contact Clawson Disposal at 512-930-5490 for garbage and recycling collection.

Commercial Fees

Fees are based upon meter size. Contact our Utility staff for appropriate fee structures.
