Leander City Manager search begins
Leander City Council kicked off its search for a new city manager on Thursday. The position reports to Council and oversees all city operations and personnel, enforces city policies and procedures, and manages the city budget.

Conserve water and save money by turning off sprinklers for winter
While you’re getting ready to turn back your clock this Sunday for the time change, don’t forget to take care of the clock running your sprinkler system by turning it off for the winter. That’s right, with the end of daylight saving time comes the end of irrigation season. In the cool months, your landscaping doesn’t need much water other than what nature provides in rainfall.

Isaac Turner begins tenure as interim city manager
saac Turner will begin his tenure as Leander interim city manager today. Council selected Turner for the position on Sept. 21 following the announcement of former City Manager Rick Beverlin's departure from the city to serve as city manager of Nacogdoches, Texas.

Leander City Manager Rick Beverlin resigns
08/23/2023 — City Manager Rick Beverlin resigned from the City of Leander on Tuesday after accepting an offer to serve as city manager for the City of Nacogdoches, Texas. Beverlin has been Leander's city manager since 2019.

Construction begins on Raider Way, Woodview Drive
City contractors have started work on roadway improvements to Raider Way and Woodview Drive in Leander, which may take up to two years to complete

Water main break in Old Town
City of Leander public works crews are on site of a water main break at the intersection of S. West and W. South streets in Old Town. Water in the area is off until further notice and the intersection is closed. Please avoid the area or find alternate routes.

Monarch butterfly migration time for Central Texas
08/19/2023 – Be on the lookout for monarch butterflies because it will soon be time for their southward migration through Central Texas. Every year the monarch migrates north from southern Mexico in the spring to go to areas around the Canadian border. In the late summer and fall, they head back south to their Mexican roosts. Leander is in the middle of their flyway, so we get to see them going both ways.
