11/18/2023 - On November 18, 2023, around 12:00 p.m., Leander police responded to a report of a train vs. pedestrian collision at train track marker 85.91 (near the 400-500 block of HWY 183) in Leander, Texas. Upon arrival, a white female pedestrian, age unknown, was found deceased. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed that this female victim was crossing the railroad bridge on foot at this location when she was struck by a Capitol Metro commuter train. The train was only occupied by the engineer and conductor. No others were on board.
Investigators are working to identify the victim so next of kin can be notified. The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
