Randall Malik is an accomplished economic development professional with over 13 years of experience in the industry. As a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), he has worked on projects totaling over $725 million in capital investment, and has successfully secured multiple Texas Enterprise Funded (TEF) projects, the largest deal closing fund offered by the State of Texas.
Malik's passion for driving economic growth led to his appointment as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Leander in February 2023, where he oversees the city's economic development program, including business retention and attraction. Prior to this role, he served as the Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Cedar Park, and has also held executive director positions at the Rosenberg Development Corporation and Cuero Development Corporation.
Malik's expertise extends beyond economic development, as he has also been involved in downtown and main street redevelopment, tourism, and arts and culture in various Texas communities. He has served on several boards, including as the President of the Fort Bend County - Economic Development Division, Secretary of the Williamson County Economic Development Partnership, and one of the Founding Members of the Eagle Ford Shale Consortium. Malik holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Public Administration from Texas State University.
